Coach operator Abbey Travel has extended its fleet with a Euro 6 Volvo B11R coach, with Sunsundegui SC7 body.
This is Leicester-based Abbey’s first Euro 6 B11R 12.6m coach, although it has operated Volvo B10M, B58 and B12 models.
Paul Garratt, director of Abbey Travel, says Volvo’s reliability puts it top of the shortlist. «We liked the B11R Euro 6 from the outset and, with that vehicle, we’re getting a fantastic chassis that is still fairly new to the market, combined with the Sunsundegui body, which is also new.»
«We’re impressed by the promised fuel economy of the Euro 6 engine on the B11R,» he adds. «It certainly seems to be living up to its billing in the vehicle’s early weeks of operation.»
Abbey’s latest acquisition has 53 passenger seats, along with a demountable toilet and servery.
